Does the image of a dancing piggy carrying a flower make you happy? If it does, you’ll love the card we have for you today! It features one of the cute little pigs from the This Little Piggy stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Here are all of the adorable little piggies in the stamp set, the little clouds shown on this card, and some great sentiments! There are 9 stamps in the set, but you can cut the greetings from the images, so that you can combine them with other sets.
This Dancing Piggy Makes Me Happy Card
When designing a card, I often use what is in front of me on my desk because it’s easier than putting all those little scraps away. So I encourage you to do the same – see what you can create with the scraps you have!
Start with the Main Dancing Piggy Image
Add Some Layers
Next cut the gingham paper down until you’re happy with the size. Mine is 1-1/2″ x 3″. For the dark brown woodgrain paper, use one of the Stitched Shapes Dies to create a stitched 2-5/8″ square. Then layer the gingham paper, the woodgrain square and the little piggy on the card base toward the left side. If you prefer, you could center the piggy on the card and leave off the leaves on the right side.
Balance the Elements
But since I had already placed my piggy on the left side, I needed something to balance the right side. I chose leaves from the Botanical Bliss stamp set. I stamped them in Cucumber Crush ink along the right edge of the card base.
In order to fill in a little of the background space, stamp clouds with Versamark ink at the top of the card base. It’s fine if the images go off the edges too!
Decorate With Fun Embellishments
The little yellow flowers in the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins pack are a perfect addition to the leaves on the right and the flower that piggy is carrying. Add pearls or other small embellishments to the flower centers if you want to make your flowers pop!
Stamp With Me!
The Stitched Shapes Dies are very versatile. Here is an idea for a gatefold card that features these dies!
