The Beauty of the Earth Surrounds Us

The beauty of the earth surrounds us in every season. But it is especially noticeable here as summer fades, cooler temperatures arrive, and the autumn leaves change to brilliant hues. Come celebrate a fall birthday with these gorgeous fall colors and a simple card design today.

The Beauty of the Earth paper creates a gorgeous fall background for a simple birthday card design. Embellish it with a few sequins and some bright ribbon for extra pizzazz!

Beauty of the Earth Birthday Card Details

Begin today’s fall birthday card with an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Crumb Cake card base, score at 4-1/4″ and fold. Next, cut another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to 3-1/2″ x 5″ and emboss it with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder. Not only does the embossing folder provide texture, it is also a wonderful background that enhances the pattern of the focal piece.

On the other hand, leave the embossed layer off for a clean and simple design. Either way, continue creating the design by cutting a 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ piece of the fall leaf pattern from Beauty of the Earth DSP. Next, snip the bottom edge to create a banner and adhere it. Place the banner about 1/4″ from the left side of the embossed layer if you’re adding one. Alternatively, center it, or position it about 3/4″ from the left side if you’re omitting the extra layer.

For the sentiment, choose two punches or dies for the circles. Cut the smaller one from Basic White cardstock and the other from Merry Merlot cardstock. Stamp the birthday sentiment from Pansy Patch in Merry Merlot ink to coordinate the color scheme.

Finally, have fun embellishing your completed card with gold sequins, a bright bow, or any other goodies from your stash!

Is fall your favorite season? I love both spring and fall! Oh, and summer too! Though I’m not the biggest fan of winter, the snow can be beautiful as well. Enjoy the season, whatever your weather is like today!
