Tulips Brighten Your Cloudiest Day – Card Details
For the card base, cut a piece of Petal Pink or similar color cardstock to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Then score the paper at 4-1/4″ and fold in half.
Next, cut a cloudy background piece, 4″ x 4″, from the Flowering Fields DSP. Layer this piece at the top of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of white cardstock. Stamp a greeting in Real Red Ink in the bottom right corner of the white layer.
Vellum Background Layer
Firstly to create the next vellum layer, begin by cutting the vellum cardstock in a 3-3/4″ square. Secondly, add texture to soften the Flowering Fields background paper by embossing the vellum with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Finally, adhere the vellum over the background by attaching with glue dots in the upper corners, and at the bottom center, where they’ll be obscured by the tulip leaves.
Rosy Red Tulips
For the tulip on the left, stamp the image from the Flowering Tulips stamps in Real Red ink on Real Red cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating Tulips Die. Next, cut the center and right tulips from plain and/or patterned Real Red cardstock and die cut them. For the die cuts with score lines, fold them on the lines and layer the pieces as shown.
Leaves and stems were also die cut with the Tulips Dies from Mossy Meadow cardstock. Just layer them and add the tulips at the top of the stems.
Finally, embellish the card with Opal Rounds and a small piece of green ribbon, tied in a bow.
