Retired, Retiring Soon, and Still Here!

It’s that time of year when Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are moving out the old to make room for the new catalog and all its glorious new products! I always feel like I haven’t had quite enough time to play with some of my “old” stamps, paper and accessories, so today’s card is a mash-up of old, not-so-old, and current items. Feel free to substitute what you have in YOUR stash and join me in making a cheerful birthday card. The watercolor wonder paper creates the base of the color scheme with its variations of oranges and yellows, so I carried those…

When I think of warmer weather (and who doesn’t dream of warmer weather with the unpredictable winter we’ve had!), the first thing that comes to mind is that my favorite spring flowers will be popping up through the snow, hopefully soon. Since the weather is still snowy/rainy here and the flowers haven’t popped yet, I soothed my spring longing by creating a bright and cheery birthday card. What will you be creating while you’re waiting for temperatures to rise to higher digits? Ready to make your own spring flowers? Click on any link in the list below for more information on…

Caught By the Tide

I was fishin’ around in my stamp room the other day, and here’s what I caught: This cute little fish is stamped in soft suede ink on tangerine tango cardstock. The coral was stamped in versamark and heat embossed with sugar & spice embossing powder – LOL – I can smell him across the room, but he doesn’t smell very fishy! Stamps: By the Tide(129120), Happiest Birthday Wishes(ret) Ink: Tangerine Tango (126946), Soft Suede (115657) Paper: River Rock (108640), Soft Suede(115318), Naturals Ivory(101849), Tangerine Tango(111349) Other: Tangerine Tango button, calypso coral baker’s twine (125573), retired DSP, ovals framelits (129381)

Repurpose Your Scraps

At one of our Song of My Heart demo team meetings last fall, we made these little treat boxes with the petal card double punch, so I had a LOT of these scraps: I never like to throw paper out, even tiny scraps. After pondering for a short time, I decided to trim the punched paper to create a frame and here’s what happened: What do you do with your leftover scraps? See some more scrap ideas on Creating With Paper Scraps.  I’m off to create some more…the 2013-14 Catalog is almost here, and I still have lots of scraps…
