Do you love all the colors of fall leaves? In your craft room, it’s easy to use a few ink pads to make them as wild or subdued as you like! Last week I shared this photo on my Facebook page of some leaves I had inked up for fall projects: How To Create Today’s Fall Card I started this card with Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry Cardstock and the Colorful Seasons Bundle. If you look closely at the stamp pads in the photo, you’ll see that the ink colors I used are Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie,…
With the cooler weather arriving here, and school back in session, it’s time to embrace all the things we love about the Fall season! Today’s card is for all my coffee-lovin’ friends who enjoy a great cup of Pumpkin Spice Latte! To create this card: Cut a card base (8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded in half) in Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry cardstock – such a bright, happy color that pairs well with Early Espresso, Soft Suede and many shades of green. Choose 3 or 4 pretty papers with coordinating fall colors and cut them to the following dimensions: I chose 2 patterns…
Look Out the Window! When you looked out the window this morning, what did you see? Here in Wisconsin, I saw snow! I’m ready to see green grass and flowers blooming everywhere. So I created this little spring scene in my stamp room. Once the scene was complete, I needed a little sentiment, so I chose ‘it’s a good day’ from the Stampin’ Up! Happy Home set. What do you think? Is it a good day? Every morning that I wake up and can get out of bed is a pretty good day! Enjoy your life today!
Easily Adapt Paper Pumpkin I love my Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin kits, but I rarely make all the projects exactly alike. It is so easy to make the pieces provided in the kit uniquely yours by adding a few small touches. The March kit had 4 small gift cards and 4 large gift cards. I made three of the small gift cards and one of the large gift cards following the instructions included in the kit. Check out this quick Stampin’ Up! video to see how to create these gift card projects. Since I didn’t need all of these…
Experiment with Card Folds Every once in a while, it’s good to shake up your card-making routine by using a different technique. This card features an easy fold that allows you to see both sides of your pretty Designer Series Paper. It is called a Drapery Fold or Pleat Fold, and you can find some videos on how it’s done on YouTube. Try it with your favorite paper! This sample shows the Autumn Traditions DSP, which is a retired Stampin’ Up! paper from the 2009-2010 Annual Catalog, a card base in Tip Top Taupe, and a Whisper White layer. Whichever…
Flowering Fields Work of Art Last week the box of flowers I ordered in February arrived for the “right time for planting in Wisconsin”. But it’s been cool and rainy lately, so I planted some flowers in my studio instead. Flowering Fields This was my first chance to play with the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration Flowering Fields stamp set, and it was so much fun! To create this card: Ink up some of the flower images from Flowering Fields (shown below) with Stampin’ Write markers in Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight and stamp them in the middle…

Shoe Box Swap Gather To Stamp Last month at the Song of My Heart Stampers demonstrator meeting we had a shoebox swap! If you don’t know what that is, it’s a get-together where each participant designs a card and cuts all the pieces needed to create their design. Then the cut pieces, along with stamps, ink and embellishments are placed in a shoebox or other container. Everyone goes around the tables and creates the project in each box. It’s so much fun! At this gathering, the Stampin’ Up! Cherry On Top DSP (Designer Series Paper) stack and coordinating Washi Tape was a…

Monday CASE of a Pretty Flower Block Card Lately, my time for stamping has been quite limited with all the gardens calling to me for daily weeding and nurturing. So I find myself looking for cards to case to get my creativity jump-started quickly. Here’s the one I found today: I love the colors, flowers and graphics. My goal was to create a similar effect with glass-block stamping and some Stampin’ Up stamps and re-inkers. I had so much fun, and this is what I created. Tips and Tricks Vary the sizes and shapes of your glass blocks and stamp…
While I was busy creating the You and Me card the other day, I created a ‘You Rock’ card as well. Once again, it doesn’t look anything like the original card, but here it is in all its glory. 🙂 It features the Adventure Bound paper and the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree stamp. The tree leaves are embossed in silver then daubed with summer starfruit and certainly celery ink. I had an idea about creating “splashy” water with pool party embossing and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp, but I’m not sure I like the way it turned out. I think the…
Last night I went down to my craft room because I was inspired by this card on Pinterest and wanted to CASE it. So I pulled out the Adventure Bound paper stack, looking for the rock paper. I had an idea about using the rocks along the bottom of the paper like rocks by the sea, but after I cut the paper, the card just wasn’t coming together. SOOOO, I …. Chose a different paper from the paper stack Cut it to 5-1/4″ x 4″ Cut a piece of Natural Ivory card stock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ for the card…
Do free crafting products make you dance? I love to create things, and when I get free products to make them with, I do a little happy dance! That’s what happened when I received the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper and the coordinating Best Day Ever Stamp set during Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration. (If I mix up Best Day Ever and Best Year Ever, please forgive me. Why couldn’t they both have the same name to make it easier for confuzzled brains like mine to remember?) I’ve already shown you some easy card samples with the Best Year Ever paper…
