Simply Confetti Card

Crushed Curry celebratory card for birthdays or congratulations.

This confetti card doesn’t actually have any of the little bits of confetti that fall out and create a huge mess! Celebrating a birthday? How about a huge accomplishment or promotion? Here’s a simple design to use when the celebratory occasion calls for confetti! How to Make the Confetti Card Start with an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Crushed Curry card base, folded in half. Cut 1 piece of Playing with Patterns paper and 1 piece of Whisper White card stock to 2-3/4″ x 4″. Emboss the white card stock with the Subtle embossing folder and adhere it to the card base…

A Little Sparkle

Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut paper and Leave a Little Sparkle greeting.

Are you the type of person who likes to add a little sparkle to each of your projects? If so, the Leave a Little Sparkle stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is perfect for you! My favorite sentiment in this set is ‘Leave a Little Sparkle Wherever You Go’. These words are appropriate for cards for so many occasions, including birthdays, weddings, and congratulations! The Leave a Little Sparkle stamp set also has two sentiments for encouragement: ‘Believe’ and ‘Make Your Dreams Come True’. The unicorn, star and flourish images are beautiful when stamped or embossed, with or without added color….

The Last Broadway Star Hooray – Part 2

Broadway Star Paper Pumpkin meets the 2018-2020 In Color Paper Stack

After creating the Broadway Star Paper Pumpkin cards I showed you in my last post, there were still a couple of cakes and a LOT of candles left. I was on a roll, and set out to use them up! So I cut one sheet each of Lovely Lipstick and Lemon Lime Twist card stock to make four more card bases. Lovely Lipstick Cards The two Lovely Lipstick cards bases are cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″. One has a vertical fold & the other has a horizontal one. This is an easy way to change your cards designs just a…

The Last Broadway Star Hooray – Part 1

On Monday evening, I met up with a couple of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to make Paper Pumpkin projects. I was excited to get started on the June 2018 Broadway Star kit. It’s full of  bright colors: Lovely Lipstick and Lemon Lime Twist, combined with black and white, as well as gold foil and sequins. Such a fun combo! Watch this short video to see the contents of the kit. Between talking (a lot) and stamping (not as much), only the two sample cards from the kit got done! Lemon Lime Twist Cards However, I was up bright and early…

Something For Baby Made With Love

New Babies are So Much Fun!   I love to create cards, buy gifts and attend baby showers to celebrate a new baby! The gifts and cards don’t have to be complicated either. The Big Shot and dies do most of the work on this one. This little card uses the Stampin’ Up! Baby’s First Framelits to cut out cute images from the Something For Baby Stamp set. The card base is Crumb Cake. Next is a layer of Very Vanilla with a onesie die cut from the middle of it. Put your favorite paper behind this die cut. Stamp the stacking…

Shaker Cards For Boys Too!

Baby Boy Congratulations! Today’s card is a slight variation of the Baby Girl Shaker card I showed you yesterday. It omits one layer of cardstock, and the ribbon is near the top of the card, instead of at the bottom. It’s easy to make lots of variations using the same basic design, with different colors, papers, inks, and punches or dies. To create this card: Start with an 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of Crushed Curry cardstock, folded in half. If using ribbon, adhere it to the card base about 2″ from the top of the card. Here I used a…

Baby Girl Congratulations Card

Congratulations for your Baby Girl! Yesterday I shared a birthday shaker frame card with you, and today I have a quick baby card butterfly shaker. Isn’t that a cute onesie for a new baby girl? To create this card: Start with an 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of Naturals Ivory(shown) or Very Vanilla cardstock, folded in half. Add a 4″x 4″ piece of patterned paper. This sample shows Stampin’ Up! More Amore Designer Series Paper (DSP), which is now retired. Next add a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of coordinating solid color cardstock (Strawberry Slush shown) on top of the DSP. Cut…

Busy Pattern Paper Challenge

What do you do with paper that has a really strong pattern and lots of colors like this one? That was the challenge put to the Song Of My Heart Stampers team a few weeks ago. Would you like to see some examples of what they came up with? If not, close your eyes and step away from the computer now, because I’m going to show a few. How about a card border, or a banner? This card uses lots of white space with only a small border of the paper showing. Or maybe you’d like a cute Christmas tree?…

Everyday Occasions Cards – Day 1

About a week ago, I held my first workshop where I used a kit as the creative inspiration and it was loads of fun! Before the group arrived, I opened the Everyday Occasions kit, laid out all the card bases together and displayed the stamps and embellishments from the set. Then I added scissors, adhesive, and the two full size stamp pads that matched the ink spots (Island Indigo and Basic Gray). I also put out the Stampin’ mist and Stampin’ Scrub so they could easily change ink colors whenever they wanted. Once everyone arrived and settled in, I covered…

Bubbles and Cake

What do you do with a small scrap of pink and white striped dsp? Why, you punch circles in different sizes to create a bubbly background for a beautiful cake, of course! The color scheme kinda reminds me of neapolitan ice cream. Yum, ice cream and cake! Stamps: Just Married (129210), Cuddles & Kisses (127314) Paper: Very vanilla (101650), Regal Rose(ret) and Early Espresso (119686) card stock, Brights collection dsp (ret) Ink: Early Espresso (126974) Other: Ovals Collection Framelits (129381), Crochet trim Victoria 5/8″ (118481), Basic Pearl Jewels (119247), circle punches: 3/4″ (119873), 1-3/8″(119860), 1/2″ (119869), 3/8″(from Itty Bitty Punch Pack…

Framed

Rummaging around in my craft room today, I came across these top note remnants from a previous project. Hmmm, what could I do with these? With a quick cut down the middle, the frame was transformed! Add a little DSP, stamp a little, use a couple of framelits and punches, sponge a little, color a little. Then voila … A baby card emerges! Blue and orange might not be traditional baby colors, but I like it! What do you think? One down and only 12-1/2 more frames to repurpose! Stamps: Baby Bundle Paper: Whisper White (100730), Tangerine Tango (111349) and Baja Breeze…
