Happy Birthday Single Layer Card

Happy Birthday on the High Seas My stenciling craze didn’t stop with just one card, of course. So here’s the second creation of the stamping session. This time I chose the stencil from the retired Stampin’ Up! Hooray It’s Your Day Simply Created Kit because it reminded me of ocean waves. While this kit is no longer available, there is a Striped Scallop Thinlit in the current catalog with a very similar pattern that could probably substitute for this stencil. After taping the stencil and Bashful Blue card stock (also retired, but any light blue card stock would work) with…

You Rock

While I was busy creating the You and Me card the other day, I created a ‘You Rock’ card as well. Once again, it doesn’t look anything like the original card, but here it is in all its glory. 🙂 It features the Adventure Bound paper and the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree stamp. The tree leaves are embossed in silver then daubed with summer starfruit and certainly celery ink. Adventure Bound Case

Last night I went down to my craft room because I was inspired by this card on Pinterest and wanted to CASE it. So I pulled out the Adventure Bound paper stack, looking for the rock paper. I had an idea about using the rocks along the bottom of the paper like rocks by the sea, but after I cut the paper, the card just wasn’t coming together. SOOOO, I …. Chose a different paper from the paper stack Cut it to 5-1/4″ x 4″ Cut a piece of Natural Ivory card stock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ for the card…

Big News Birthday

Birthday cards seem to be the cards I need most often, so I like to keep a variety on hand. Today’s card is an easy (less than 10 minute) card for the Song of My Heart Christmas party Shoe Box Swap. If you’re not familiar with shoe box swaps, basically each person who is attending designs a card and cuts a set of all the pieces for each person who is attending and puts them in a shoebox or other container. Then they add the stamp set, any ribbon, embellishments,  a glass block, punches, ink pads, etc. to the box…

Caught By the Tide

I was fishin’ around in my stamp room the other day, and here’s what I caught: This cute little fish is stamped in soft suede ink on tangerine tango cardstock. The coral was stamped in versamark and heat embossed with sugar & spice embossing powder – LOL – I can smell him across the room, but he doesn’t smell very fishy!
